PostPosted: Mon Jun 01, 2009 3:25 pm    Post subject: Delta gaming build 1 ITX

Hey guys, I wanted to be the first do do this, and as far as I know I am around here. I built a ITX system that is watercooled(custom system, not a store system), and can easily game with L4D at max

Build
Core2Duo 3.0ghz @ 4.2 (E8400)
Patriot 2x2048mb DDR2-800@800mhz
(new)Zotac 9600GT
ZOTAC GF9300-D-E (775 Socket/DDR2-800/9300 w/hybrid SLI, 1 Esata)
Lian LI PC-Q7 ITX
Western Digital 320gb 5400RPM HD
(new)Fuji 80gb 7200RPM drive
No Optical Drive
(DELI DEAL!) Coolermaster 550W PSU
Windows 7 Beta
(new)Windows Vista Ultimate 64

Watercooling System:
Themetake Aqua Bay System
Switft Tech Apologee GT
2x Swiftech Chipset Coolers
Custom Build heat raidator with Peliter/TEC/PILE (Whatever the hell they are calling it now) 168W

and some extreme case mods to fit it all.

The reason I wanted to share this with you is:
1) Because it is cool
2)Because I want all good gamers to have a decently portable Lan box
3) I am making a guide to building one of these, and have pictures (coming soon)
4) Windows 7 won't bite you like Vista does Shocked
^Windows 7 is a load a crap. (Constant freezing, overloads everywhere, and poor memory management.) I would go back to XP if I could
Thoughts, questions, and info Laughing

Doesn't the windows 7 beta end August 1st? It says on June 1st your computer will shut down once every 2 hours. Other then that, seems pretty sweet.

Yeah, it's a full year, basically.

Well I hate to say this, but Windows 7 really is better than Vista. I thought I would just move back to Vista, but I really will buy it this time around.

the only problem with a beta OS is that if you did ever feel the need to play a game that uses punkbuster, your fucked. punkbuster does not support win7 and you will get kicked within 1-2 minutes of joining a game. when i was using win7 i contacted them about said issue and they sent me a response saying that they will never support beta os and that there is no fix or workaround. i did find a few people that said and showed a workaround especially for cod4, but it did not work at all.

I would never download a beta when it just comes out. I wait till most people who have been on the cutting edge to find some issues and resolve them. For my basic gaming it works awesome, but for anything else, I just use my old box. Yeah, that kind of makes me sound like a script kitty, but we all are.

Clearing up some confusion on the LCD readout of the 5.25 bay.
Top is Water temp
Bottom is the Alarm's Temp. (In case your pump fails....etc)

Stuff outside LOL.
Wait till you see the inside. I have to get my camera back from my dad, but believe you me, inside was NOT an option.

Yes, I built this box solely for lan-ing.

I have two things I have to do, and the seconds one may not happen.
1) Mount hard drive, reposition wires, and mount GPU again.
2) Weld or pop revit a handle!

I would try to rivet the handle first. If that doesn't work you have holes to weld a handle on. If that doesn't work try welding. The case is probably aluminum which many welders aren't experienced at welding, so you might have some trouble with that. You could also try to epoxy it.

Well since it took me 3 hours to mount the video card, I do not think I have time for the handle. I figured a Zotac card built for the 9300M board would fit like it was supppost to. Bad call. Anyway, to fit I had to take out th bios battery, so I have no way to hold info. Could be worse though.

That zotac 9600GT is the ONLY card that will fit on this 9300M board, in the PC-Q7 Case.
